I do this only once a year and this is that time. Some of the reasons that I have a website are that it keeps my brain from turning to mush, it’s fun, it has numerous technical challenges and I learn new things. However, websites cost money. I have downsized recently by going from a 200GB storage capacity site to a 20GB site. I also get free SSL on this site as compared to $100 a year on my previous site. And I now pay roughly $100 a year for this site versus $250 a year previously.
So I have saved money. However, one of my goals has always been to not make millions on this site but try to break even. Some years I have done so. Many years I have not. I have monetized this website by placing text ads, banner ads, product placements and product reviews on the site. I also receive free or reduced price merchandise to do these reviews with.
So I am asking the reader to at least visit the
on this site and check it out. I have built advertiseing relationships with hundreds of advertisers over the last twenty plus years and feature their products and services in my store. I don’t make a lot of money if someone buys something. The commission rates vary anywhere from $1 to $100 and/or between .2% and 40%. And the way that the system works, if there is a misconfiguration on my side, the advertiser side or the affiliate network side, I don’t get paid. And, in most cases, there is a monetary threshold that I have to overcome in order to get paid.
It’s not a slam dunk. Christmas is coming. People spend the most money in November and December on gifts for others. All I ask is that you visit the store.
