Mike’s Running Commentary

I’m going to try something new. Since I am very unhappy about the results of the 2024 presidential election, I am going to start a running commentary about what I see as illegal, unethical or just plain bad developments concerning the recently elected Trump administration. Again, I will try to abstain from obsenities and attacking individuals. But I will go after what I perceive as unlawful, mean spirited or actions that will erode our freedoms in this country.

02/20/2025- According to The Independent, after a rash of insults and falsehoods, Trump told Zelinsky to …”tone it down and take my deal…”

I’ve been busy with new advertisers on this site the last few days. Another day, more drama. First, Trump lied (again) and said that Zelinsky started the Ukraine-Russia War. Then he tries to bully him. And his deluded supporters still speak his praises. And the Repugnant congress approved funding for his Project 2025 (aka contard law) agenda. In my opinion, things are looking bleak. Mike C

02/06/2025- According to a Daily Beast article dated 02/05/2025 Trumps’s chief of staff Susie Wiles shot daggers at Trump during his unhinged Gaza Press Conference. Trump first said that the residents of Gaza should not return home. Bebe Netanyahu was with him and just smiled. Later that day Trump called for the U.S. to take over Gaza and transform it into the “Riviera of the Middle East. And still later that day, I read an article somewhere else that said that Trump said that the U.S would not pay for this transformation.

Whoa, boy, what can I say. The image at the top of this article is funny as hell. If you have difficulties viewing this article, you can see the image

Here.

In my opinion, this was another day, another blunder. Or was it? While watching Smerconish on CNN last week he asked in his weekly poll if Trump’s DEI remarks were just a distraction from the current gutting of the US government by Elon Musk. At the time I didn’t think so. After yesterday’s bombshell, I’m not so sure. Mike C

02/05/2025- In a recent BBC article Palestinians and Arab states rejected Trump’s plan to resettle Palestinians in other countries, then tear down and rebuild Gaza as a “Riviera of the Middle East”. He then stated that the United States would own that land.

In my opinion, it seems like every day since Trump has taken office, he has done something more crazy than the previous day. He wanted to take over Greenland, then the Panama Canal, then Canada and now the Gaza strip. This is very worrisome behavior. I wish him no physical harm. But he needs to be in prison to pay for his many crimes. Tuck frump. Various news outlets recently reported on Democratic Strategist Jame Carville’s comments on Trump’s recent actions. To be fair, I’ll pick the Fox News version. He said to be patient and Trump will “punch himself out”. It can’t happen too soon. Mike C

02/03/2025– In a recent Newsbreak article, Senator Tommy Tuberville, R-AL, in a recent interview, said that he doesn’t believe that police officers were viciously attacked at the US capital on 01/06/2020. He said that since he didn’t see it, he doesn’t believe it.

In my opinion, this is another example of Trump’s “Tools” perpetuating his lies. However, we will never forget. Oh, and I didn’t call him Tommy Tupperware. Oops, I just did. Mike C

01/31/2025– According to NBC News, reported “At his first news conference since the aircraft collision over the Potomac River, President Donald Trump implied Thursday that diversity, equity and inclusion programs could be the cause, although an investigation into the fatal disaster has only just begun.”

It is my opinion that Trump blew an opportunity to further unite the country. He lamented the disaster, called for a moment of silence, then ruined it by saying that DEI hires caused this problem. If you’re not in favor of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion), then you are probably DBR (discriminatory, biased and racist). And, according to a 01/31/2025 Washington Post article, his previous administration launched an air traffic controller diversity program that he now is against. Mike C

01/29/2025– According to Newsbreak, Senator Tim Kaine, D-VA, told US federal workers not to accept President Trump’s proposed buyout of government workers. Kaine said that Trump didn’t have the power to do this and, judging from Trump’s past experience of not paying contractors, Kaine said “He’ll stiff you”.

I think that I believe Senator Kaine on this issue. Mike C
